 | Petzl Handled Ascender
This ergonomic handled ascender from Petzl is NEW for 2009. Refined to provide greater comfort, efficiency and ease of use. To give you greater friction the ergonomically shaped grip is over moulded with rubber. The broader surface provides greater comfort while pulling on the ascender. To provide better comfort for your fingers during use the grip is wider at the bottom. The index finger indent has also been increased offering greater efficiency when pulling on the ascender. The angled teeth provide secure grip in the worst conditions. The handled ascender has been redesigned to minimise friction when sliding the ascender along the rope. The geometry of the single piece aluminium frame ensures optimal handle orientation when the device is loaded and will maintain solid, comfortable performance.

Petzl Basic Ascender
The same efficient mechanism as the Petzl Handled Ascender, but without the handle. Cuts down weight and bulk. More used on the caving scene than for mountaineering.
Good for rigging pulley systems, Rope climbing. Self belaying on a fixed rope etc.

 | Petzl Croll
Suitable for mounting on a chest harness as part of an SRT rig or for general rope ascending.
Thanks to the twisted position of the attachment point, the Croll is always held flat against the body. The upper rectangular hole allows the attachment of shoulder straps for support. The Croll is fitted with an ergonomically shaped opening clip which is easily gripped between the thumb and index finger.

Petzl Tibloc
Meant for emergency use, this is the smallest and lightest rope clamp type ascender on the market. It will get you out of many difficult situations by helping you to set up a quick hauling system, or climbing a rope. Very useful for self rescue from crevasses etc. Every climber should have at least one Tibloc in their kit.

 | Petzl Stop Descender
The Petzl Stop descender is designed for long single rope descents mainly in caving. A venerable classic among descenders.
When the handle is released, the descender brakes. The descent is controlled by varying your grip on the free end of the rope. The handle is used only to un-jam, the rope and allow it to slide through the device.
Thanks to the safety catch, you can install the rope with ease without having to unclip the descender from the harness.
